Ghajini The Game (India's first PC 3D Game)

You are trying to catch two criminals who might help you get to your girlfriend’s murderer. The villains are throwing petrol bombs at you and you want to stay out of their sight. But you can’t move because of an unknown reason. That’s what happens to the protagonist of the Ghajini video game, released by Hyderabad-based FXlabs, all thanks to a bug.
It tells the story of Sanjay Singhania (Aamir Khan) who is suffering from anterograde amnesia. His last memory is of his girlfriend’s murder and her last word — Ghajini. He is on a rampage to avenge her killing.
The game, of which over 10,000 copies were sold in its first two weeks, feels like an attempt to copy the graphic and gameplay style of popular PC game Max Payne, sans the guns and slow-mos.
The similarity between the two games is not restricted to comic-book style of storytelling alone. It also shows in the way the story is built up. The game which begins in Singhania’s apartment moves to a CBI building, a construction site and even an old building. All these missions, especially those set in construction sites, seem repetitive.
In the first mission, you are required to play with stealth while towards the advanced levels, you have to charge towards villains, like Max Payne, with a bamboo stick or a cricket bat in hand. The fight, however, would have been interesting if not for the poor Artificial Intelligence (AI). Customisation options are zilch. Control keys cannot be changed and that applies to level of difficulty as well. Even if you are a hard-core gamer, you have to start off on easy-mode.
The game looks as if it was hurried into the market without thorough testing. You will spend more time loading and reloading because you have ‘died’, thanks to the bugs. Also, the environment is bland and hardly interactive. It is filled with low-poly objects with heavy texture; they don’t really justify the high system requirements.
